Value budget kit but not bad
Reviewed on December 30, 2025
This is a not bad tattoo machine kit at a low price. It's not adjustable stroke, so you may need to use different ones for delicate and bolder things, or learn to go heavy or light. It comes with some accessories that aren't anything great but are functional and useful. It comes with all the basics you need to start. It's a budget machine, but it works reliably and is a good value.

Handy machine for script and fineline work
Reviewed on January 5, 2026
The Tattoo Machine Starter Kit by Solong for Effeer is a solid choice for those getting into tattooing or looking for a reliable pen-style machine. The smooth-running swashplate design makes for a comfortable and precise experience, especially excelling in black and grey shading as well as fine line work. The build quality feels sturdy and well-made, which adds to the machine’s overall durability. The kit includes some nice basic extras like practice ink and a simple battery supply, which is great for beginners wanting to test their skills right away. However, I do wish the kit came with a dedicated power supply and cord. Since these pen machines rely on their compact size, adding the battery can make them a bit tall and less ergonomic. Having a lightweight power supply option would enhance usability and comfort during longer tattoo sessions. Overall, this kit offers excellent value for its price point, especially if you focus on black and grey work or detailed fineline tattoos. With a few tweaks like a proper power supply, it could be even better. Nonetheless, a great starter kit for aspiring tattoo artists at a super value! P.S. this kit comes with a ample supply of stencil transfer cream and decent skin usable needles!

Starter kit not really good for real tattooing though
Reviewed on January 7, 2026
This kit is a good starter kit however things I do not like about it are the battery and control of the machine. This machine does offer some power, its quiet. I did see some drag in the needle when trying to slow it down for shading. The battery pack is simple and doesnt offer much control over speed or voltage. Also you have no display other than some little LED lights showing you the speed. I honestly prefer using machines with a color oled screen so you can see what the voltage is. The battery fits onto the machine via RCA connection pushes and connects onto the top. With the battery on top like this can make the weight a little off on the machine when holding it for a long period of time. This kit does come with some supplies to get you started. the only thing I would be aware of is ink quality, these practice inks would not be suitable for permeate tattooing. Overall not a bad kit just not for someone that is tattooing frequently.
